About the Auditor

Matthew OestreichMatt was elected Wood County Auditor in November 2018, and previously served as Assistant Chief Deputy in that office. Oestreich brings eighteen years of public sector experience to the office of Auditor; while serving as Weights and Measures Inspector in 2006, he was the recipient of the Frank P. Gallo award, which recognizes excellence in the area of weights and measures. As Auditor, Oestreich serves as the County’s chief fiscal officer and appraiser. He is the sealer of weights and measures, and is also the secretary of the Budget Commission, Board of Revision, and Data Processing Board. Matt serves as the Vice President of the Wood County Community Improvement Corporation, and is a member of the TMACOG Finance Committee.

Matt is a member of the Wood County Republican Party Executive Committee and the Young Republicans. He is active in the community – a member (and past director) of the Bowling Green Kiwanis Club, he is the Kiwanis liaison to the Eastwood Key Club. Oestreich is a coach for Upward Youth Sports, a member of the Wood County Historical Society, and a Friend of the Wood County Parks.

A lifelong resident of Wood County, Matt is a graduate of Elmwood High School and holds an Associate’s Degree in Agricultural Business from Owens Community College. Matt farms in Montgomery Township where he resides with his wife, Leslie, and their three children.
